- Hike in Madrid´s most hidden natural treasure with a certified mountain guide: the foothills of the National Park of Guadarrama. (Easy hike suitable for all levels, mostly flat and without technical difficulty).
After picking you up in Madrid, we will travel in a comfortable van with a small group (maximum 6 people) for a more personal and relaxed experience and we will head to the mountains of Madrid. We will start the morning with an easy hike in the foothills of the Guadarrama Mountains.
The easy hike is suitable for all levels and provides stunning views of the Monastery of San Lorenzo del Escorial.
This hike is ideal for photography, stunning panoramic views and connecting with nature. You will learn, with your guide, about the amazing pine tree forests, rock formations and natural history of this National Park. Guadarrama National Park is only one hour away by car from Madrid and for many madrileños, this is our most hidden treasure.
After the easy hike, we will explore the iconic 16th Century Royal Monastery of San Lorenzo de El Escorial, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that is regarded as one of the eight Wonders of the World. Our official guide will walk you through the monastery, the royal libraries, the Habsburgs and the Bourbons Palaces and you will discover the magnificent architecture, sculpture and paintings inside this monument.
When we finish the visit to the monastery, you will have free time to stroll through the charming town of San Lorenzo de El Escorial. Enjoy the elegant town nestled in the mountains and you will have time to enjoy a coffee or browse some local shops.
We will head back to Madrid and we will drop you in the same spot where we picked you up in the morning at 2:30 approx. You will still have plenty of time to enjoy the city of Madrid during the evening/night after an amazing day trip to El Escorial and to Madrid´s National Park of Guadarrama!
